Monastic Communities in the Holy Land

There are a number of ancient Communities located in the Holy Land. My guide took me to a couple of amazing places.

Jericho

The Ancient City of Jericho, in the Jordan Valley, within a few miles of the Dead Sea.

The Wood Carvers

Olive wood carving is a major industry in Bethlehem. I visited the shop of some of the carvers and photographed a number of their carvings.

The Pool of Bethesda

In Jerusalem the Pool of Bethesda is where the man was waiting to enter the waters; Jesus asked, "Do you wish to be healed."
